Opportunities and Risks of Synthetic Biology

IASB’s chairman Peer Stähler (febit synbio GmbH) has published an article in the German biotech magazin Transkript. In the current issue 7 (14), Peer Stähler discusses the new opportunities brought about by synthetic biology, but also sheds a light on the risks that are associated with the power of new technology.

The articles explains in detail the activities of IASB and the networking of members of industry and academia to address biosecurity and biosafety issues in synthetic biology. In particular, Peer Stähler describes current and planned collaborative initiatives and projects in the field of biosecurity.
