News coverage: New Scientist reports on IASB activities

The “New Scientist” runs a short news item on IASB’s resolution to mandate sequence screening for its members. This is one of the goals and work packages that were decided at the Munich workshop on biosecurity. IASB will create guidelines for screening, and its members will announce their compliance with these guidelines by publishing a seal of approval on their websites.

IASB is currently working on the guidelines, and will launch the screening seal of approval by the end of 2008 at the latest.
